Attorney Cooperstein began her legal career in 2007 at a plaintiff's firm concentrating in medical malpractice, before moving to the defense side at a large Pittsburgh firm. She then joined the Hon. Eugene F. Scanlon, Jr. (Ret.) to help launch his mediation and arbitration practice, serving as an ADR Associate until 2018. After stepping away to start a family, she returned to the law in 2025 with her position at SutterWilliams, where her practice focuses on workers' compensation claims and federal black lung cases.
A Pittsburgh native now based in Mt. Lebanon, Elizabeth is a CECTH-certified therapeutic horseback riding instructor at Shadow Ridge Stables in Charleroi. There she works with children and adults with disabilities, guiding them through horsemanship and riding in a supportive, skill-building environment. Her connection to horses spans a lifetime — she first rode at age five, and it remains one of her deepest passions today.
Education
Elizabeth earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2007, following her 2004 graduation from Bucknell University magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Classics. She is licensed to practice in all Pennsylvania state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
